Sunda servicey brunch midtown
Please advise as to best Sunday brunch in Midtown - price not an issue. Normas reported to be good food, but long wait for table and poor service. Thank you.

I love Aquavit, which is splendid. It is semi-buffet, but not one of those over-the-top-let's-see-how-much-you-can-eat things. They serve elegant small portions of wonderful things -- a sort of Scandinavian influence. Perfect service from the waiters. Gorgeous setting. But need to book a few weeks ahead normally.

ome other options
>Cafe Botanica in the Essex House Hotel. Buffet appetizers and desserts and entree off the menu. Across from Central Park >the Boat House in Central Park picturesque spot looking out on lake >Brasserie 8 1/2, one of the few buffet brunches in the city. Very dramatic room >57/57 in the Four Seasons Hotel >Davidburke & Donatella--trendy, upscale near Bloomingdales |
Thank you for your help - with these great suggestions, I'm sure we'll get fed!

Dock's Oyster Bar on 3rd Ave at 40th Street. Great brunch (lots of seafood dishes of course...I love the salmon scrambled eggs), great setting and never a wait. I'm surprised more people haven't discovered it.

It's not quite in the heart of midtown but Eatery (798 9th Ave. at 53rd St.) has a great brunch. It's a cool-looking place, too.
