Summit County - Keystone Accommodations Recommend or Avoid?

We are planning a short ski trip to try Keystone. We usually rent basic, clean places to stay from condo owners or at hotel. Don't care about hot tubs, swimming pools, etc. Unfamiliar with this area. Are there any condo complexes, motels, or areas you would definitely stay in if going to Keystone? Definitely avoid? Is staying in Dillon, Frisco, or Silverthorne busy traffic and unpleasant drive so we should pay the extra to stay at the resort? Thanks for the advice.

We rented a condo in Keystone Resort about ten years ago. Found it much better than commuting every day and there is a shuttle bus that makes a loop around the resort so kids can go their own way.

It's always more convenient to stay on or near the ski area. Most condos in the area are fairly new, so it's unlikely you will get a bad one. Condos in Dillon and Silverthorne tend to be more economical. But, traffic problems are minimal. Most condos have hot tubs, but I don't think many have pools. You might check the Sunday Denver Post where you might have an owner renting out a condo instead of using a management company. Frisco is okay, too. Breckenridge is also a nice choice. The area might have some morning traffic congestions, but except on weekends, it shouldn't be too much trouble. No really bad areas around there
