Not from NY but I observe the summer solstice every year buy watching the sun fall to the horizon. It rained on the 21st so I couln't do it this year. Been doing this for years and have been asked if its a religion thing. No, but I know the ancients use to do it. Seems like a natural thing to do.

I bought some elderberry wine at Heron Hill Winery, took of all my clothes, and plunged into Canandaigua Lake.
