Summer sales NYC
 

OK really shallow question but when do the summer sales start? I usually travel to NYC in September when they are pretty much finished and there is very little stock left. Winter stock is well and truly in the stores. When would be the best time to visit to stock up my summer wardrobe?

June, really, if you want a good compromise between amount of merchandise left and sale prices. Of course anything left in the stores in August will be nearly free.

Summer sales seem to start in April these days :) 4th of July is when the deep discounts set in.

Currently stores have resort/spring wear. Summer clothes will be coming in shortly. Sales will start about 3 weeks after the clothes arrive and will continue on a regular basis. If you wait until July you will find the deepest bargains, but everything will be picked over, there will be little left and there will be a lot of fall clothes in the stores.

Late July you will find lots of sales.
