Summer heat in Hawaii

How hot does it get in Hawaii in the summer? I have been following the official temperature for Lahaina, Maui and the hottest temperature I have seen all summer is 87. Does it ever go over 90 ?

TWC says the all-time high for Lahaina is 97 (set back in 1985).

The average high for every day in July and August is between 87 and 89.

Needless to say the temperature doesn't change very much.....and that's why we go there.

A couple of years ago i called home to Connecticut from Hawaii and we were pleasantly comfortable in the mid 80's and Ct was hovering above 100. It is always pleasant in Hawaii.

It feels hotter because the sun is intense and the humidity.

Compared to other tropical locations, Hawaii is really not that hot. The northeast tradewinds keep things cooler. Also areas in the high elevations can get down right cold, with snow fall on mauna kea and mauna loa in the winter. Its when the trade winds die and we get a Kona wind pattern,it can become humid and uncomfortable.
