Suite or B&B
Anyone have any recommendations for suites or B&B's in NyC. Will be there the first weekend in Dec w/ my husband and 2 teen daughters. Looking at Greenwich Village/Midtown East areas. Would appreciate some guidance and recommendations as I'm not having much luck.

That is one of the busiest weekends of the year in NYC so you will pay premium prices.
Try one of the Affina.com properties. I particularly like The Shelburne Murray Hill. All of their hotels are former appartment buildings, most are suites and many have full kitchens. Very large for NYC hotel standards. |
What about all the names I gave you on your other thread (including affinia)? Too expensive or not available? It would help to know what problems you're having before giving you more names.

leah, mclaurie gave you excellent advice in the previous thread.
Please do not buy knock off designer bags on Canal Street. The authorities have directly linked this to supporting terrorism. What is your budget? NYC isn't a B&B place in my opinion and many don't allow kids under 16. |

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn on 23rd Street - www.innon23rd.com. Inn only has 14 bedrooms, each room is different. Look at excellent reviews on this site and www.tripadvisor.com Staff is very helpful and a very nice breakfast is served in the library and included in the cost. Subway is close. I would stay here again. www.bandb.about.com/cs/findnewyork/a/ manhattan_2.thm or www.bbonline.com for other places. Does not having much luck mean the places you like and try are booked solid? Take a look at my thread on Shelburne Hotel. I would think most of the Affinia group of hotels would be good

thanks to all of you for some of your suggestions on my previous ?'s. Yes, seems like many are booked for that weekend, Chelsea, Inn on 23rd, .... still waiting to hear from some others. Didn't know that this was such a popular weekend. Unfortunately our schedules are such that it works the best. :(

Take a look at this site: http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/ppf/n...12/Search.aspx it is a list of B&B's in NYC with links to the inn's website. Many of them have an availability calendar so you can quickly check dates and prices.

Some more names for suite hotels that are less well known
The Carnegie Suites The Buckingham The Wellington and the Wyndham are 2 very well located hotels (I think they have suites) but they're a bit worn around the edges. Read reviews on tripadvisor before booking. The Murray Hill Suites is another place. In the village there are 2 places I've seen listed, the Morton St. Suites and the Minetta suites. I think they're very basic and may be student type places though. Hope this helps. |
