suite hotel (separate room for kids) in san diego
two adults and two kids (6 & 3) - would like to find a hotel that had a separate room for the kids so adults can enjoy a living room, tv and sofa bed after the kids are asleep. they are on a very tight budget ($150 or less). don't know if there are any places for the price but thought i'd ask. year ago, i had booked my family in a hotel on the south side of hotel circle. it was a highrise about 15 stories but i can't remember the name. they had a great family suite there. anyone know which hotel i may be referring too?
regarding suites, i've already checked out embassy suites and radisson. humphrey's is out of the price range.
thanks.

Don't know price, but we stayed at Best Western - Shelter Island (right near Humphrey's). 2-room suites (sliding wall between) with full kitchen, small balconey or patio. 2 TVs, nice pool, not really near anything, but short drive.

I was also going to suggest the Embassy Suites but I didn't think she could get it for under $150. We really enjoyed our stay there. Nicely located near Seaport and Gaslamp and close to Trolly stop.

If you'd like to be in Coronado, there is a little 50's style place called Coronado Inn. It is on 3rd & Orange, 3 blocks from the bay landing and about 10 blocks from the beach, Hotel del, etc,.
Nothing fancy, but has clean one bedroom units with living room with bed & TV, and a kitchen too. Has a pool, and free continental breakfast.
We paid $109/night last Christmas, not sure of the price for the one bedrooms in summer. Make sure you don't have a unit that faces 3rd street as those are noisy.

Hi
We were able to get a nice 2 bedroom suite w/ 2 bathrooms at the LaJolla Residence Inn. The cost was $169.00, but it also includes a cooked breakfast each morning. They also have a cocktail 'party' every evening and a few posts on www.tripadvisor.com told us that the food that was there was ample enough for a light dinner.
I do know that they also had 1 bedroom suites for under $150.
Good Luck!

Our family of 4 stayed at the Balboa Park Inn for a few 2 years ago. Our "room" was basically a large one-bedroom apartment, with a couple of rollaway beds stored in the living room closet. There were 2 or 3 TVs, a very big bathroom, and a full-sized kitchen. I think it was in the price range you mention. We were pleased with the hotel, although it was a bit quirky. The only downsides were the repetitive, mediocre continental breakfasts, and the fact that the rooms tended to be too dark.
