Suite Hotel in family area
My husband and I are taking our 7 month old to NYC in a few weeks and looking for a suite or a spacious room that would be suitable for a baby to sleep/nap. We would like to be near the Upper West, but would make do anywhere, except Times Square. Any suggestions??? We are also trying to stay in the $300/night range.

The "in a few weeks" part is the problem. It's very pricey now and the best priced placed may be booked. On the upper west side, the Beacon and the Milburn are budget"ish" and have suites. The Lucerne and the Excelsior are not suite hotels but do have some one bedroom suites.
In midtown east, the Kimberly, the San Carlos, all the Affinia.com hotels, the Alex, Best Western Hospitality, Murray Hill East. These 3 are in midtown west but not TS. nycsalisbury.com blakelyhotelnyc.com radiocityapartments.com |
My baby and I are tag-a-longs on a business trip. Normally, I have more time to research and book something in advance. Thanks for these suggestions!

With a 7 month old I think you would be most comfortable on the upper west side if you can find any suites left. Much less frantic and more baby friendly - plenty of room for strollers on most of the sidewalks.
Lots of inexpensive retaurants that are used to little kids (esp if you eat early), good acess to Central Park - if the weather isn't bad (Carousel, playgrounds, just seeing the park, the small zoo - which also has a children's zoo) and the Museum of Natural History if the weather is bad. |
