Suggestions on beach places for a babymoon (w/ an 11-mo-old)? :)
It's been too long since my husband & I have gone on vacation, and with the new
baby coming mid-March we've decided it's time. We'd love to go somewhere
unspoilt with a beach (nothing uber expensive or touristy), and we'll have our
11-mo-old & nanny in tow.
We're flying from Southern CA and we've come up with Maui (condos for rent provide a nice way to house the nanny)
and the Bahamas (there's an oceanfront yoga place, with no yoga required so
far. (I'd really love to be going to Morocco, Bali or Bora Bora, but don't think
the flight time will work for the baby.)
Would love your insights! Thank you!

I would definitely do Maui. We took our son to Maui when he was 3 months old, then went again when he was 3 and our daughter was 5 months (that time with a nanny). . It's just soooo easy from California. I just don't see any reason to over think it - Maui's great and easy, so great choice.

Any of the Hawaiian islands (we love them all) - should fit your "Babymoon" - as well as here in San Diego - most days in the "winter".
You might also like Costa Rica, or Cabo San Lucas - at the tip of Baja.

Really anywhere in Hawaii. Not exactly mainland medical available, but decent. Maui may have the largest choice of nice condos, along with restaurants. Stay south in winter for calmer ocean conditions.
If you can go n-o-w, before the Christmas crush, you'll find availability and nice prices. After that...lotsa luck. Check car rentals today.

What is your budget for lodging? How many bedrooms? When are you going(sometime before March, but when?)?
Without knowing any of the above, I will say that my favorite condos on Maui are the Makena Surf units. Great beachfront location. A three bedroom (you, your child and your nanny) will run you around between $700 to over $1000 a night. Actual beachfront on Maui is expensive. Try Wailea Elua too.

My favorite is Kaanapali Alii on Kaanapali Beach - also very expensive. There are choices ranging from beachfront to hillside, plain to fancy, less expensive to uber-expensive. What's your travel style (Motel 6? Marriott? Ritz-Carlton?) and nightly budget?
