Suggestions for one afternoon in Ft. Lauderdale.

I posted this before, but I can't find it because I forgot to pick a search topic.

Our June cruise ship arrives back in Miami on a Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Our flight back home is out of Ft. Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. After we leave the ship, my brother will drive us to the Lauderdale Airport. I'm guessing (depending on how long it takes to be released from the ship) we will have 4-6 hours before our 6:00 p.m. flight. Any suggestions on what we could do with that time?

SR - Just click on your ID in blue on this posting and it will list all of your previous postings where you will find the responses to it.
With so little time you may just want to drive down A1A for a nice view of the beach area and turn onto Las Olas Blvd. where you will find many shops, restaurants, art galleries, etc. Stop for a nice lunch before your flight home. See the enclosed web site address -

You have enough time to take the water bus ride along the intercoastal. It's a great little trip where you get to see some fabulous homes and you can stop for lunch along the way.

You did not say if you will have a car at your disposal or if your brother will be driving you around all day...but here are some ideas in no particular order:
1)Bayside Marketplace - is right next to the Port of Miami and has shops, restaurants and you can take a cruise of celebrity homes of Star and Habiscus Islands
2)Parrot Jungle Island - also right near the Port of Miami
3)South Beach - Oceand Drive and Lincoln Road Mall - plenty of shops and restaurants
4)Coconut Grove - Cocowalk - shops and restaurants - nice for a few hours
5) Las Olas - as earlier poster stated. The Jungle Queen is a nice steamboat ride you can take.
6) Sawgrass Mills Mall - out in West Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County - if you like outlet malls, this is the place
