Suggestions for NYC B&B's that don't require a minimum stay?

My daughter and I decided to go to NYC for a few days between Christmas and New Years, and while I can find numerous hotels, I really like bed & breakfasts, but I'm having a problem finding any that don't seem to require a three-night minimum. We're only staying over one night, so does anyone have any suggestions?

There are not alot of B&Bs in the city which is probably why you are having a few problems.

I can recommend the Sugar Hill Inn and the Harlem Landmark Inn, both of which are in Hamilton Heights, (SH Inn on 143rd ST and HL on 147th).

I have toured both places and they are quite nice.

The HL also owns a "cafe/bakery right on the corner of 147th St, and has wonderful pasteries. I get tea there regularly.

Both are close to subway/bus. You can be midtown on the A train in 15 minutes.

Hope this helps abit.

Thanks for your reply!

I ended up giving up on the B&B idea and, in order to save money, made reservations at a hotel where my daughter and I will share a bath. I REALLY hope I won't regret this! My daughter was quite willing to stay at a hostel, but that was something I didn't even want to consider. The hotel where we'll be staying had good reviews on Trip Advisor, with most everybody mentioning the cleanliness, which is important to me. I figure for one night I can do it!

By share a bath, I mean one down the hall shared with other people - not just my daughter!

twina-Could you please share with us which hotel this is? People here are always looking for reasonable hotels in NYC even those with a shared bathroom.

It's Hotel 31 (http://www.hotel31.com/). We are getting a room with two single beds for $150. Everything I read (Trip Advisor, Yelp.com, Virtual Tourist), all mentioned how clean everything was. They also mentioned that the rooms and elevator are small and dated, but I can handle that.
