Suggestions for lunch for a work group
 

I will be leading a group from work, there are 12 of us, for a fun day in DC at the end of July. I wanted to know if anyone had a suggestion for a nice but reasonably priced restaurant within walking/metro distance to the FBI Building. Thanks, I appreciate it!

We love the Old Ebbitt Grill..it's a very classy dark panelled 'power lunch' kind of place very near the White House and Treasury Bldg. You'll see a mix of politicos, business people, and tourists there in the summer time. <BR><BR>For lunch, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Here's the link to Zagat's description. I would highly recommend Jaleo - a reasonably priced (and very fun) Spanish tapas restaurant. It's only 2 or 3 blocks from the FBI. They generally don't take reservations, but you might want to call ahead and see if they'll make an exception for your group.<BR><BR>Across the street from Jaleo is Andale, a nice Mexican/Latin place w/ a modern twist. I don't like it as much as Jaleo, but I believe they take reservations, so it might work better for you.<BR><BR>Two other very good restaurants right in that area are Ten Penh (at 10th and Pennsylvania) and 701 (at 7th and Pennsylvania) - the FBI is at 9th and Penn. Both restaurants are kind of pricey for dinner, but i think at lunch they would be pretty affordable.<BR><BR>Zagat's and washingtonpost.com should have reviews of all these.

Jaleo's a good choice. If you have many beer lovers in your group, you may want to try Gordon Biersch. It's kind of an upscale brewpub. The beer's excellent (even my husband, who grew up in Ireland, loves it) and the food's pretty good, too. I think it's at 9th and F. And walking's a good idea, because there's no valet parking.
