Suggestions for Hilton Head

We will be in HH the first week of November. One day we will travel to Savannah for a day trip and maybe another day a day trip to Charleston. We will walk the beach but boating will be closed for the season. Sitting around the pool will probably not be a good idea as I understand it will be about 60-62 degrees. Any suggestions for activity? Names of really good restaurants? Thanks, all suggestions welcome!

We love Hilton Head-we are going for two weeks after Thanksgiving. We love riding bikes-rent them from Bike Doctor or Riding Tigers. You will love riding on the beach and on the bike trails around the island. Sitting around the pool will probably be fine if the sun is out. Restaurants we like are Sea Shack, Old Oyster Factory, Skull Creek Boathouse, Black Marlin, Frankie Bones. If you like fresh boiled shrimp-go to Piggly Wiggly at Coligny Plaza-they will cook it for you and it is great. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks nig. Parks or gardens? Museum for a rainy day?

I liked the daytrip we took to Daufuskie Island and rented a golf cart and drove around. There are only a few places to eat there, so read up ahead of time. Good thing about Hilton Head is a lot of the restaurants have early bird dinners, I had salad, salmon and dessert at CJ's near Harbourtown for about $24pp plus a glass of wine, tax and tip.

Jamie, Daufuskie sounds like fun. Do you have to take a ferry there? Where does it leave from?

Yes, you take a ferry there, sorry I do not remember where it left from, we got to one ferry and it was private so they told us where to get another ferry, we took that and it landed near the one and only resort on the island. The bus driver taking the folks to the resort was very nice and drove us over to where we rented the cart and picked us up later that afternoon. So to avoid the confusion we had, ask at your hotel. They also have tours.
Another nice trip we took, in Sea Pines somewhat near The Salty Dog (the shrimp toast is really good and SO rich), we took a boat ride on a red Zodiac to go dolphin watching. Trip lasted several hours and also went near Daufuskie but did not land. Was great.
