We live in a Foodie area and are spoiled by great restaurants. But when we were in Seattle in July 2008 we really liked Etta's Seafood, but loved, loved, loved LOLA, another one of the Tom Douglas restaurants. We loved the late night menu at Lola best and went 3 times in 3 days. I can still taste the feta and watermelon salad and the housemade strawberry sherbet.

Just an FYI since Lark was mentioned a few times... Today's Living Social coupon deal is 50% off -- for $50, you can spend $100. I don't see any restriction related to only using this on food and not alcohol. It's a great deal!

Having the best time in your wonderful city! Been to Campagne, Dahlia Lounge and Lark and Matt's in the Market. So delicious, esp. Lark and Matt's. We're going to Ballard tonight and wonder if you have any recommendations? Food and/or live music. Thanks a million. You've helped make this a great trip already.

Glad you're having a great time, you are sure having great weather! You might want to try Delancy in Ballard, an artisan pizza place that's been getting great buzz. No reservations though so you might have to wait.
For music, it really depends on what type you want to hear--pick up a copy of the Seattle Weekly or the Stranger (or look on their websites) for tonight's listings (you're looking for venues on Ballard Avenue).

Oh, sorry, forgot that you are GF so Delancy may not work for you. I'm trying to think of what else in Ballard...Bastille has gotten very mixed reviews so I hesitate to recommend it. There's a high end Italian place but the name is escaping me...hopefully someone else will chime in.

Thanks again for all these great replies! We ended up at Ocho in Ballard (so delish! and very accomodating to my gluten allergy) and then around the corner at Sunset Tavern. Sorry we missed you StormyGirl! Would have been fun to have a mini Fodor's meet up and buy you a drink to say thanks for all the great suggestions!
Thanks again to all! What a great trip!
