Suggestions for Anniversary Weekend in Niagara Falls

We spent our Honeymoon 44yrs ago in Niagara Falls and decided to celebrate our Anniversary this weekend there. Both Sheraton's were booked so made reservations at The Brock Plaza with a Fallsview. The reviews of this place are mixed but the latest I could find was two years ago and they say they have updated. Anyone with information on the hotel and dining ( purchased a package) would be appreciated. Also ANY recommendations on things you've enjoyed there will be appreciated.

We stayed at Niagara-on-the-Lake. It's a lovely, quaint Victorian town, only about 10 miles from the Falls and did a day trip to the Falls. That was enough.

There's a butterfly conservatory in the area that is worth a visit, as well as several wineries.

Lots of lovely B&B's in the town as well as restaurants, shopping, and strolling. ((b))

Bundle up and view the falls from both sides. There are casinos on both sides. The Canadian side has a brand new Vegas style casino. I haven't been yet, but understand it's very nice. I do know that they have several entertainment venues.

Here's the website:

Have fun.

Thanks for the website. I will check it out.

Thanks for info on Niagra-on-the-Lake and the wineries. I went to their website and was pleased to find that the reason I had a hard time getting reservations is that this weekend is the Season Of Taste at 16 local wineries. Unforturnately, there are no tickets left. I should have posted my question earlier :-) We can still go to the wineries, but the package prices are gone.

I second the recommendation on Niagara-on-the-Lake. It's a lovely town and well worth the visit. If you are interested in a great and romantic Inn, I would recommend the Pillar and Post. There is a great spa, hot tub and indoor pool there.
And CONGRATULATIONS on 44 years. That's quite an accomplishment. We have 33 under our belt and have spent many romantic anniversaries at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Hi CD! Congrats on 44 years! How wonderful!

Definitely have at least one meal at the TABLE ROCK RESTAURANT, located at the brink of the Canadian Falls, absolutely the closest view of the Falls! Operated by the Parks Dept, it is casual yet very nice and the food is reasonable and very good. Brunch was amazing -- the best eggs benedict ever. Definitely wait for window table -- the view is almost dizzying but totally memorable!

The Butterfly Conservatory was a wonderful surprise and definitely worth a visit, as is the ever popular Maid of the Mist.

Have a great time!

Congrats to you! That's wonderful! My dh and I always stay at Michael's Inn - www.michaelsinn.com when we go to Niagara Falls - it's a block from the Casino and Planet Hollywood and the rooms are great - they have regular rooms and rooms that are "themed" with jacuzzi's. We liked the Scarlett O'hara room. It's reasonalbly priced -they also have reasonably priced packages including breakfast (full) and dinner - try the prime rib - yum!
