Suggestions for a wedding proposal site in San Francisco?
One of my staffers is going to San Francisco in a couple of weeks and plans to propose to his girlfriend. I was going to suggest a romantic restaurant, but it's a crap shoot (pun intended) as her digestive system is kind of delicate. I suggested a couple of spots in Golden Gate Park. Any other ideas?

You could take a look at any of these spots.

OOOO!!!!! That's so perfect! Thanks!

a "delicate digestive system"?
:-? Steeeeeeerike one! Give me that guy's e-mail addy. I must speak with him. [-X |
hahahahaaaaa Poor guy has to sell a kidney to get the ring!

I'd suggest that he pick someplace very personal to the two of them, not just generically "romantic". When my husband and I were in college, we had very special feelings for a drive-in A&W. If he had proposed at an A&W in a city we were visiting, I'd have been incredibly touched--but most other people wouldn't have seen that as romantic at all.

Top of the Mark for dessert, a beverage and POP! goes the question.
Not original, but pretty amazing views. We did this a few weeks back [minus the POP!] and it was really lovely. Deb |
Mels,
Steeeeerike TWO abs, Rico's Pizza here. TOTAL shock. Deb....wazzuup.... ;) |
Agree with DebitNM. The views from the restaurant atop the Hilton Union Square are also phenomenal. Basic Hilton Hotel fare would not upset a delicate digestive tract.

There used to be a small sailing ship called the "Ruby" that sailed from around China Basin.
It did lunch and sunset crusies under the bay bridge up past Treasure Island to Tibron and back. We did the sunset trip which came back past the city as the lights came on. It was awsome. I don't know if it is still around but there must be something else that does the same. |
Bleacher seats at Pac Bel/SBC/ATT or whatever the name of the Giants' ballpark is now...propose under the giant mitt or Coke Bottle so everytime you see it you can go.."That's the spot"?
oops....a delicate digestive system and ballpark food, even SF ballpark food may not mix... Altho...Acme Chop House is located right there too?... |
humph kal, where were YOU for the GTG's??? 2 of them and you couldn't make either one to meet me? Sheesh...

I would suggest Spinnaker in Sausalito looking across the bay at the city skyline or the overlook just after the Golden Gate Bridge on the Sausalito side. The view of the bridge and the city is breathtaking.
Spinnaker has a wide variety of food and something should be great fro the delicate digestive system. It would be a most romantic view. |
Deb,
I was busy doing my hair. Being me ain't easy. Sometimes it's like a centipede putting his shoes on. We came down the following weekend for a Mrs Kal run and since I'm now "on a fixed income"....:)) |
Ok, if they are outdoorsy types, he takes her for a walk along the "new" area at the Presidio, I consider it the walking path but don;t know what it's called...it's where you can follow the path right to the foot of the Golden Gate bridge.
So now one side is the path with all the peeopl, and the other side is a little more lonely..and quiet..and has better views. So, by the time the sun is setting there are very few people around, just a sky full of pretty pink clouds, and the water and the Marin Headlands and maybe fog and lots of pretty birds...and wind. That's just if they are outdoorsy types. It's very "nature-y." |
ALL Fantastic suggestions!! I actually do not know how delicate her system is, but they drink a lot when they party so it can't be THAT bad!
Maybe they can crash at Uncle Kal's...? |
How about the Jananese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Partk?
Perhaps near the main pond? http://tinyurl.com/5gtrb8 http://tinyurl.com/6o4ec4 |
Great minds think alike, I suggested that too! now I feel like I should tag along and hide in the bushes so I can photograph the blessed moment.

Something real memorable would be to propose at Alcatraz!!
OR - on the jumbotron at a Giants game. MY |
Oooh - I actually like the Alcatraz idea! That would definitely be memorable. Of course, not every woman would appreciate that, but talk about a good story ;)
