Suggestions for a Memorial Day Weekend in Vermont?

Hello,

3 Friends will be flying into Albany this Friday AM and renting a car to drive around Vermont until Monday AM.

We are requesting suggestions for 3-day itinerary to experience "quintissential Vermont"

Suggestions for places to stay on the itinerary are also welcome.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Cheers,

Michael

Check out newenglandtraveler.com and newengland.com. The first is the website for a publication of Boston Magazine that focuses on (duh) travel in NE. I was reading it yesterday and it had some interesting suggestions for the quintessential aspects of each of the NE states.

Newengland.com is the website for Yankee magazine and it has great suggestions also.

For me Vermont is Stowe's Recreational Trail, Ben and Jerry's factory tour, Church St in Burlington, Quechee Gorge.

Have a great time.

If you're planning to stay in or visit the Burlington area, then continue on Rte. 7 to adjoining town of Shelburne for the outdoor museum there --- http://www.shelburnemuseum.com/

Sorry I hit post before previewing my message. I meant to clarify that the museum has a wonderfully eclectic collection AND it's spread across beautiful grounds with a portion of the collection outside.

Try the Four Columns at Newfane, if not as a place to stay, then at least for dinner. It's excellent and Newfane is definitely "quintessential Vermont".
