Suggestions for a golf vacation - leaving from N. CA

Looking for a nice place where four golfers can go for a long weekend to golf. Looking for somewhere that's going to be at or below 90 degrees during Labor Day weekend. Would like to have at least 2 courses to play, and a reasonably nice resort where we can relax after our round. It would be nice if there were some good restaurants nearby as well. We're very happy to fly, but want to keep the flight at 3 hours or less from Northern California. Anyone have any suggestions? We're happy to try places that aren't too well known so long as the courses are good enough to justify the trip. Unfortunately, Scottsdale/Phoenix area has gotten a big "no" vote due to the heat at that time. Thanks for all who reply.

Portland, Oregon. Lots of great golf here, temps definitely below 90 labor day.

Why not stay in northern CA and play some of the good public courses in Monterey. Look at www.golfmonterey.org.

Rheianne--

San Diego, Orange County, Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo down south. Don't know where you live in Northern California, but getaway possibilities include Lake Tahoe/Carson City and Graeagle. Also, as others mentioned, Portland or Sunriver in Oregon. Check out the many golf web sites.
