suggested itinerary and tours

I have seen several sites that have a suggested itinerary for 3 to 5 days. We will be in NYC for 7 days, any sites that have a 7 day suggested itinerary? Also, we will be staying on the upper west side of Manhattan and flying in early morning, could we do Lincoln Center, Museum of Natural History and Central Park all in one day? Any suggestions on what tour group to take a tour with? We are all quite active and love to learn about history and culture.

Rarely do these set itineraries work for everyone. I suggest you plan one of your own based on your own personal interests and touring style.

Can you "do" those 3 things in one day? I supppose, but it depends on what you mean by "do." Drive by, walk through etc. If you walk, it will surely be a lot of walking.

There are 1 hr. tours of Lincoln Center

but there are also tours for jazz not to mention programs for meeting some of the artists. Have a look through the Lincoln Center website to see what appeal to you.

Some people could spend all day at the park. Again, there are tours both walking and on bikes. Here's walking tour info

As to what tour, I don't think any one tour will do it all. The very popular Grayline hop on/off bus tour gives you flexibility and a good overview, but I wouldn't count on the guides for lots of historical insight. I've heard very good things about the Marvelous Manhattan tour.
kingofnyc.com
I think I'd use that for an overview and then consider some specific walking tours.
bigonion.com does some of various neighborhoods.

http://www.bakerloo.org/pubcrawl/index.htm does a literary pub crawl of Greenwich Village that's fun and very good.

The Tenement Museum is very popular tour

(and should be booked in advance)

If you're into architecture, the Municipal Arts Society does some very good tours

foodsofny.com does a popular eating tour of the village and/or chelsea.

Here's a list of free walking tours
