Sugg. for Awesome Resort in FL for December?

I know in December the ocean water won't be very warm, but I was hoping to travel to a gorgeous resort where I could relax before having my baby in March? We wanted to go to the Caymens, but my husband is nervous about me travelling out of the country while 7 months pg. Any sugestions for gorgeous Fl resort?

Little Palm Island is a great place...expensive as all heck, but great.

Might look for something in Sanibel/Captiva as well. Not sure if South Seas Plantation has opened yet. Sanibel Harbor is nice.

Tranquility Bay in Marathon (Keys) is brand new and has beautiful grounds. They have specials on their website. The Ritz Carlton in Naples would be a great treat before the baby, too. Congrats!

The Biltmore in Miami?

I guess the "elegance" of Little Palm Island is lost on me. There is nothing glamorous about it. I have a similar beach cottage that I'll let you stay in for half the price and that will easily pay my mortgage for the month.

South Seas on Captiva will not open until spring 2006 if they are lucky. It is not very luxurious and the hurricanes have blown away its island charm for a while.

The most gorgeous resort I can think of is Casa Morada. It is lovely and relaxing. In the mid keys....Islamorada. Best chance for guaranteed warmth in December.

Look at http://casamorada.com

I love Little Palm, luxurious but very laid back. Mucho dinero is needed. Any of the places I'm suggesting have luxury, relaxation and an ultra tropical atmosphere for less money ( well maybe not that much less, none are bargains).

No beach but a fabulous resort is the Mandarin Oriental in Miami. In its own little world and incredibly relaxing. Best spa in the states, IMNSHO.

Here is another fabulous place in Miami, away from South Beach which is doesn't seem to have the right tone for a mommy-to-be. The restaurant, Baleen, is magical as well. Look at:

Not sure Little Palm Island will be back open in time for Christmas. They had a bit of hurricane damage.

Agree with the great suggestions.

Look into LaPlaya or the Ritz Carlton beach resorts in Naples.
