Such chutzpah! Great Deli in Ann Arbor

Coming from New York, I've been a tad chauvinistic about our pizza, deli, and bagels. On a recent meandering road trip to Chicago, however, I sampled the corned beef reuben at Zingerman's, the brick and mortar headquarters of the well-known mail order deli in Ann Arbor, MI, and, alas, I have to pronounce it the equal (I'll never say better) of the corned beef one can get at Katz's and the 2nd Avenue Deli in my hometown. Perfectly tender, rich and lush from first bite to last. I am humbled!

Town has an excellent bar as well, Ashley's, with a selection of beers, ales, porters and stouts which puts most of our local beer halls to shame.

They say no one is more parochial than a New Yorker. It may be true -- but I'm learning!

Thanks for the Ann Arbor shout out. Glad to hear the kind words for Zingerman's. I took a holiday job in mail order a few years ago and stayed on for a year. It was a resting job before getting back to the real world. Great place to work. Great place to eat.

I've always loved Zingerman's. So happy to hear such a nice review from a New Yorker. And now I am craving a corned beef sandwich. Yum. Just wish I was a bit closer than I am so I could go there more often.

You have a right to your own opinion, I just won't speak to you again.

Actually I have heard good things about Zingerman's but it is a long way to go for a pastrami sandwich.

We tried Zingerman's before flying out of Detroit a few year's back. It was really good.
