Subway directions NYC

I am looking for some help. I have put together a bus trip to NYC for 12/1/07 arriving at Rockefeller Ctr 8:00 am and departing same at 8:00 PM. Some travelers are shopping, some sightsseeing etc. I am wondering if anyone can tell me subway directions.
1. Rockefeller ctr to Ground Zero
2. Rockefeller to Macy's
3. Rockefeller to Canal Stree
4. Canal Street to Time Sq

Also walking distance from Rockefeller to Canal Street.
Rockefeller to Time Square.
Any help is appreciated. I am trying to put together a little information sheet with some specifics on for my travelers.
Thanks again

walking distance from Rockefeller to Canal Street... way too far, especially if you going to be carrying purchases.

I have been gone too long from NY to remember but this should help and I am sure others will reply:

It's almost 4 miles from Canal Street to Rockefeller Center. I walk it all the time, and it's the best way to see the city. But if you are carrying alot of bags probably not a good idea. And you'd want to take the subway back up anyway. From Rockefeller Center to Macy's is only about a mile, and Times Square is right there.

Google maps will show you a nice detailed map of Manhattan and you can plug in addresses to find out how far one address is to another. The link posted above for the subway map will show you that many, but not all, lines stop at Canal Street.

ask.com's maps are nice in that it lets you actually choose "walking" instead of "driving" for distances in NYC (or at least in Manhattan)

Use the MTA maps for the subways rather than Hopstop since the MTA site lists any weekend reroutings of train services.
There are lots of them on the weekends (you're coming on a Saturday, right?),and this info changes every week, but as an extreme example, look at these changes!

1. Rockefeller ctr to Ground Zero
Take any train at Rock Center B,D, F,V and transfer at West 4th for the E to the World Trade Ctr.

2. Rockefeller to Macy's

This is combination of walking and cross town buses.

3. Rockefeller to Canal Street

F Train to Broadway Lafayette, transfer to 6 to Canal Street. (You can only make this transfer for the downtown trip.

4. Canal Street to Time Sq

R Tain to Times Square or
the 6 to Times Square and then the shuttle from Grand Central to Times Square
