Submarine races, Maui + Alaska

Excuse me, please.
We're at the early stage of planning and researching; modifying the plan again.
What can you relate in the experiences of viewing the Submarine races offshore: Maui and Aleutian islands.
Which location is preferable? We've read great things about each.

many thanks,

Pis

Gee, while it's been years since going to the submarine races (newer interestes, family, etc) one used to be able to find them anywhere, even at small Caroga Lake in NY.

You're right, they seldom disappoint and I'll bet off-shore provides for even a better "viewing".

Well I haven't really watched them since a cold New Years Eve in Milwaukee back in the 60s ....

Ahh what memories.
Used to watch them off Jones Beach (LI) 1948-1951 when the kids working for JBCC would have beach parties..

Any more input?

Thanks,
