Studio Tours and TV Tickets
 

Will be in LA first week of August with three teenagers. We will be doing Universal Studios, but what other studio tours are good that they might enjoy?

What is the best best for TV Tickets to any of the shows? Last time we had tickets for one, got there and it had been canceled.

Our family took the Warner Bros tour (with a 13-year old boy and 16 year old girl) and loved it. Lots of sets from popular TV shows and movies, saw some actors on the lot (all waved, one came over to talk), and a great guide full of anecdotes.

Ohhhhh, <i>television</i> tickets. I thought you were looking for something else.

The Warners Brothers tour is highly recommended. The Universal Studios Tour is now secondary to the whole theme park experience-- unless you spring for the VIP tour. You'll really get the backlot experience.

When you take the Warner Brothers tour, you feel you are in a film studio; when you take the Universial Studios tour, you feel you are in a theme park.

At Warner Brothers a few years ago we walked around the sets for &quot;Friends&quot; and &quot;ER.&quot; At Universial Studio we had to listen to a wiseguy read a script and crack stupid jokes.

About 10 years ago we were there and some hawkers were standing in front of Grauman's Chinese Threatre and giving out tickets to TV shows. This is not how to get the best ticket in town, but we just wanted the experience of seeing a TV show being filmed. We went to see a talk show hosted by George Hamilton and Alana Stewart. Not exactly a hit show, but we really enjoyed seeing how it all works.
