Strip hotel. Mirage or Paris?
Looking for moderate priced hotel on strip. Have researched Mirage & Paris. Any current opinions on these or another. Looking for NICE room, convenient location for 10 yr. anniversary. Thanks

I just returned from the Mirage! We loved it, only drawback is there is construction going on behind the hotel. If you get a strip side room, probably won't be bad. We loved the rooms, the gambling, friendly staff.
Paris is closer to the middle of the strip. Monte Carlo is on the south end.
We will probably be returning to vegas one more time this year. We more than likely will stay at Paris...we heard it is great and like to try new places.
But we also wouldn't hesitate to go to the Monte Carlo again.
All in all...stay at Paris! Convenient location and the casino is beautiful.

Just stayed at the Mirage last week. First time there and very happy with our stay. We got in at around 4pm on a Sunday and there was about 4 deep in 4 lines at the check-in desk. The managers saw this and got 3 more desk clerks to open up and it flowed very well after that. You do have to walk through the casino area to get to the elevators for your rooms. I am a non-smoker and there is plenty of smoking going around. Too bad, but it's a part of Vegas that won't go away. Our room was on the 17th floor looking at Caesars Palace and south. Very clean room with just enough "style" to keep it from looking plain. The bathroom isn't too big but was adequate for the 2 of us. The only negative I can think of for the room was that you can hear the closest doors close quite loudly. The location of the hotel is great. Easy to get on and off the freeway
(I-15) and you have a lot to see within walking distance. I would go back. We stayed at the Monte Carlo last year and I do like the Hotel part better there. You don't have to walk through the casino to get to the elevators from the check-in area or from parking. The rooms, at that time, were quieter, but there is construction going on with a new resort going up. I heard people say it is 24 hours a day. So, we tried the Mirage and liked it. Good Luck!

cwojo99 actually has just stayed at Monte Carlo, and sounds a bit giddy from the fun s/he had!
Mirage is dead-center Strip (better location than Paris) and its theming is less oppressive than Paris'. The rooms at Mirage seem (are?) a bit cozier than those at Paris, but the ambience is a bit more luxurious. Paris is nice, but it's more like a theme park than a Vegas resort-- Mirage feels like a nice Vegas resort.
And Paris' pool stinks in comparison to Mirage's. There, I said it.

Oh, and Mirage is conveniently located for both Bellagio and Wynn-- you'll find the highest-end, best-regarded eateries on the Strip in those two resorts. Mirage has a great Brazilian churrascaria, Samba, which is well worth a try (Meat Parade: waiters bring you all-you-can-eat grilled meats on skewers until you surrender).

We stayed at the Mirage last June for nearly a week. The pool is second to none in my opinion. The area is tropical, relaxing, shaded if you prefer and there was a separate kids pool. Location is great. Paris is also a pretty place, but we wanted a nice pool. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Happy Anniversary.

Another vote for the Mirage. We stay there often and really like the hotel. They are in the process of remoding rooms but that is going to take quite awhile. Standard rooms are large and comfortable and have in-room safes (not all the hotels have them which is surprising in Vegas). The pool area is the prettiest in town.
