Strip distances

I have been looking at hotels and come across various maps of the strip but have no idea of the walking distances between them. Can anyone help? eg how long would it take to walk between the Wynn and say New York, New York? Thanks

Wynn is clear at the end of the strip (past Mirage) and the New York! New York! is on the opposite end of the strip near MGM. Good 15 minutes.....I taxied it from Wynn to MGM and I walked the strip. I would recommend walking it at least once if it is nice out. Also, you might want to take a taxi downtown to see the light show at night.

I walked from the Wynn to the Excalibur (which is just past NYNY) to catch the tram to Mandalay Bay when I was there in December and it took about an hour, going at a moderate pace. I think I read that the entire stip is 3 miles long? But I'm not sure about that.

I was just there between the holidays. Yes, The Wynn & new Encore is at the end (north, I think) of the center strip and New York, New York is the opposite direction. It is quite a distance. Where I stayed was in the middle, at the Flamingo. The weather may influence your decision to walk. It was far too cold when I was there. My suggestion is the DEUCE (the bus) It costs $5.00 for 24 hours and $2.00 for a single ride. The buses are very nice, but can get crowded. I took it to Downtown one direction and all the way to Mandalay Bay in the other direction

Due to traffic and construction, walking from NYNY to Wynn will take you approx 30 minutes (less if you walk fast and/or catch some lights). As one person noted, the strip is approx 3 miles long. Walking is part of the Vegas experience...Enjoy!

Just remember - In Vegas everything is further away than it looks and you can't get there from here.

Without a doubt, walking the Strip is a fabulous adventure... But make sure you are wearing the proper shoes for long term walking because you will also need to walk through each of the shopping areas that are around the perimeter of each major casino. The shops are incredible, but will never match the fun of the people watching you will be doing while there. ENJOY!

One thing that makes the walk take longer is that at a number of corners, you can't just cross the street--you have to go up a flight of stairs to a pedestrian bridge and cross over that way.

You have to allow for walking time on the street and almost as much walking once inside.

These hotels are so much larger than you can imagine.

If you out walk yourself and get pooped out, you can always get a taxi back to your hotel.

Wow..

I would like to see people who can walk 3 miles or so in 30 minutes. That is a consistant 10 minute mile which is a light jog with no slowdowns. Can't be done on this route.

You are looking at a good hour and if weather is too hot or cold, it will be miserable.

Get a cab or stay in the middle.

This comes from a frequent Vegas visitor and a person who enjoys a good walk.

Though the entire strip is approx 3 miles long, the distance between the Wynn & NYNY is approx 1.5 miles. However, after rethinking my most recent trip, it will probably take one closer to 40 minutes.
