Street parking near Mandarin Oriental in SF?

Anyone know how difficult it is to find parking on the street near the Mandarin Oriental in SoMa?

The Mandarin Oriental is not in SoMa.

It is in the financial district on Sansome Street.

There is no free parking.

There are parking meters in the area that are in effect during business hours but they are hard to come by.

That area is very congested especially during the day Mon - Fri so you might be driving in circles for quite a while to find a street spot.

If you are staying overnight you should be in a garage.

Daytime - impossible. Nighttime - don't know.

Hi neworleanslaura, I would just use the hotel's valet parking. When staying at a hotel in SF with a car IMO that is the easiest way to take care of the parking situation. Enjoy SF!

Parking at the M/O is $45/day. Do you need a car for your SF stay? The city is very easy to get around on foot, cable car, BART and cab, and the M/O is in great location.

The ferry can take you to Sausalito. If you need to go to Napa/Sonoma or Monterey/Carmel, you can rent a car for the day.

There basically is no street parking for cars in the financial district during the day. Most of the streets are metered for truck parking until 6 pm Mon-Sat. After 6 you can park on the street but rarely is there any parking. Best suggestion is to forego having a car.

Not having a car in SF is something I sure agree with neworleaslaura. SF is a great city to walk in and taxi's are easy to get plus there is so much public transportation as others have said. But if for some reason you must have you car I would use the hotels valet parking. Best regards.
