Street Fair's,Bryant Park, and other questions in NYC

We will be there the end of July. Any street fairs going on that last weekend. Also we were thinking of going to Bryant Park to hear a good morning america concert. How early do we need to go. I have no desire to be in the front row or anything crazy. Where are Bryant Park,Union Square and Washington Square from the Time Square Area?

Is Grand Central worth taking the tour?

Are the waterfalls worth the tours and which tour would your recommend?

Thanksfor your help as always.

Here's a link to NYC Street fairs (schedule and location)

The Circle Line tour goes near the waterfalls. There are limited # of free tickets. I don't think I'd go if I have to pay. Otherwise you can just go DIY. I was in NYC for July 4th w/e and took the (free) Governors Island ferry. One can see the Governors Island waterfall upclose. http://www.circlelinedowntown.com/waterfalls.asp

First - suggest you get 2 good maps of NYC - one street and one subway - since you will need them for the trip.

Bryant Park is between 40th and 42 Sts and Fifth/Sixth Avenues - so a couple of blocks from Times Square.

Union Square is near 14th St - the northern end of downtown. (Times Square is midtown - NOT downtown). And Washington Square Park (partly under construction) is by w 4th St.

And just so you're aware - these are "parks" in the city sense.

The real Park - Central Park - runs from 59th St up to 110th - from Fifth Ave to Central Park WEst.

Who is playing at Bryant Park? I use to walk by the park on the way to work. The concert usually is only for 1/2 hour total time! It just is a segment of GMA show. I remember walking my as Christine Aquilera was warming up. That was around 8 am and there was plenty of room to see the show (she is small but POWERFUL!)

So if it is a must see event then get there around 7:00 am.

Bryant park is 42nd and sixth (just a few blocks from Time Square)

Union Square is about 14th street, and Washington square park is the furthest south (end of 5th avenue around 4th street. (Positively 4th street! as Dylan would say!!)

According to my daughter, O Town split up in 2002 or 2003. Here's the GMA concert schedule:

Miley Cyrus is performing at the Rockefeller Center concert at the same time Feist is at Bryant Park.

Here is the website for the flea markets: There are three locations--Annex/Hell's Kitchen/Chelsea/25th Street--click on the individual tabs for more details. There is also a market on the UWS: http://www.greenfleamarkets.com/
