Stowe, Vermont- Hotel/Resort Accommodations

Can I get some ideas of where to stay in Stowe, Vermont?

2 to 4 adults, 1 child (2 years old)

We aren't going to strickly ski but it is something we will try out! We want something fun and nice. Close to restaurants and town attractions. Somewhere where we can enjoy the snow (even build a snowman).

Something affordable but not cheapish. Nothing set on price nothing that's $1000 a night. Hotel, resort or even cabin if you have a good reccomendation.

Thanks
Megan

When are you going? The reason I ask is that this has been a horrible year for snow. Much of northern New England is virtually bare. This is very rare, but it does happen sometimes. Of course the ski areas make snow, so that should be fine. However, if you want to play in the snow, you might want to call ahead to see if there is any snow on the ground in Stowe.

For anyone thinking about Stowe I was there last week and they took about 4-5' of snow in the previous 10 days or so. We got about 3' while there. The drawback was it was very windy and lift operation was minimal. They should still have plenty of snow though...
