Stowe

We will be in Stowe next weekend for 4 days. We'd like to see Stowe and use it as a base for day trips. Are there any must-sees and must-dos anyone can recommend?
Thank-you!

Of course it depends on your interests but if you like ice cream, the Ben and Jerry's HQ is nearby in Waterbury and they have factory tours and samples.

I also agree with the sugguestion to visit the Shelburne Museum.

I suggest you get "Covered Bridges of Vermont" by Ed Barna. Meanwhile check this link http://www.virtualvermont.com/coveredbridge/index.html

The Great Vermont Corn Maze just opened. Not sure how high the corn is now. We went when it was towering over our heads. Don't venture in on an empty stomach because it can take 2-4 hours. We finally gave up and took the "emergency exit". People of all ages were enjoying the maze but you need to be able to walk. It's on a hill so you will get tired. My husband and I took turns being the leader and the complainer about the turns the leader chose.
To the west, Boyden Valley Winery makes a nice visit. Go for tastings. Lots of nice scenery. Get a Vermont Atlas and Gazetteer if you like to get off the beaten track. It also identifies the location of waterfalls, covered bridges, etc. If you garden, don't miss Gardener's Supply north of Burlington. Nice demonstration gardens. You should find out about local farmers markets and places that make their own cheese.
