Stopover

A friend and i will be travelling to San Francisco and San Diego next April. Can anyone recommend a 3 night stopover to break up the journey on the east/mid side of america/canada? I had Toronto in mind. I have been to NY so please could people recomment others. Thanks

Wow that is a heck of a stopover!

Toronto is a wonderful city, but be sure you stay right downtown. If budget is not an issue, go for the Four Seasons at Hazleton Lanes. That will put you right where you want to be with all the boutiques.

I would not go to Montreal unless you had more time. It is a very busy city with all sorts of traffic problems and you need time to get to know it.

If you wanted te Quebecois experience, I would rather send you to Quebes City than Montreal any time. Quebec City is the oldest city in North America, an International Heritage site, and is as romantic as Paris

Try Chicago. Great time of year, great city, lots to do - museums, parks, architecture, shopping, cafes and bars, the works. Tell them you're Irish and the drinks will flow. Use Priceline.uk for your hotel.

Chicago is good choice as well.

One more point in Toronto favor is the city is all in bloom at the end of April with beautiful tulips.

Chicago will probably be colder than Toronto however.

But cities are very much alike otherwise. If your going to shop Toronto would be better because your going to get 1.63 on the dollar.
