Still trying to decide..Ritz Naples or Breakers
After much research and reviews, I'm still undecided about going to RC Naples or the Breakers in Palm Beach.
I thought I had settled on the RC, but then I saw both resorts featured on "Great Hotels" and now I'm back to square one! I didn't think I would like the Breakers as much as I did. I prefer the beach in Naples, but the pool area and rooms at Breakers look nicer. We have five women in our party, so we are splitting rooms, 3 and 2. The only drawback to the RC is that they only way they can put three people in a room is with a rollaway bed...sounds very unluxurious very uncomfortable, especially for the money. We can get a junior suite at the Breakers, with king bed and queen sofa bed. Any thoughts? Thanks |
Sounds like you answered your own question. If your going for a girls weekend, you want to make everyone comfortable so the Breakers would be a better choice.

But I much prefer the beach/water in Naples. Is it worth the trade off to sleep on a rollaway. How good/bad are they?

Our room at the Ritz in Naples was large enough to accomodate a rollaway.

I haven't stayed at the Ritz or the Breakers, but since I've done a good bit of traveling as the youngest in a group of three, I've been stuck on the sofa bed many times. I don't think there is anything luxurious about a pullout sofa bed, particularly if you are sharing it with another person. There is always that bar in the middle that hits you in the back. I don't see how a rollaway would be any worse!

I agree with Betsy. If I HAD to sleep on a sofabed, I'd sleep on it as a sofa and not unfold the bed. Two on a sofabed? I don't think so. The cot would have to be better.

We have a king bed for two of us and a rollaway for the third, by herself.

My daughter slept on a rollaway at the Ritz in Amelia Island when she was 9 years old. The rollaway is a little short. I don't think it would comfortable accommodate am adult.
