Steamboat Springs Eats
I am spending some time soon in Steamboat on a ski-trip. My skiing party is not die-hard, and a big part of the fun is the apres-ski eating. Can anyone give me a read on the places that I need to put on my list??
Thanks!!!! |
Two we've been to several times are Mambo Italiano, on 521 Lincoln Ave, and La Montagna, which is in the ski village. Mambo Italiano has a fun atmosphere, rather loud, and a big bar scene in that part of the restaurant. La Montagna has good southwestern cuisine.

Without doubt you'll have to at least have breakfast at Winona's.

Thank you. They are all now on my list. Any others?

We also enjoy, Johnny B Goods at 738 Lincoln Ave. And the Steamboat Smokehouse at 912 Lincoln Ave (the main drag). Enjoy!

Thank you for your suggestions. We went on our trip to Steamboat and had a great time. I guess we would rate Steamboat Smokehouse and La Montana as absolute tops. We tried several others places that were good enough, but not ones that we'll make a point to return to. La Montana's entrees (especially the daily specials) were out of this world. The Smokehouse had great quality BBQ at decent prices.
One word on Steamboat - the shuttle service to/from the restaurant was bad. What should have been a 30 minute drive to our condo took 1 hour and 15 minutes, because there is no choice but these stupid shuttles. It is an absolute monopoly. If going for 5 days or less, rent a car. Much simpler. |
Regarding the shuttle service, I meant to write "to and from the airport" not "restaurant". Sorry, one too many wind-down beers this evening.
