Stay around JFK or in CT?
 

Hi, I'm picking one of my kids up at JFK late at night and heading north. Should I stay around JFK or head out a bit? Can anyone suggest someplace on 95 north that would have a nice safe comfy hotel? Thanks in advance!!!

If you will have to drive the next morning and it's a weekday, I would for sure head out of the city and stay elsewhere.

I think Rye NY would be a good bet, there's a courtyard there.

How late at night? If it's already the small hours you may be too tired to go far. But if it's earlier than midnight I would get out of the city if possible. You might get as far as Stamford.

I would second the idea of trying to get at least as far as CT before stopping for the night. You'll be happier to be outside of the NYC traffic and will get a faster start the next morning.
