Star Trekking at The Griffith Observatory

Although Tracy, myself and the corgis often hike up to the Griffith Observatory, I had not been inside for five years. Last month, I decided to take a look around, and it is still a fascinating spot to visit. One of the great aspects of the observatory is ... it’s free to visit.

The history surrounding it is intriguing as well. Not many people know that the gentleman who had the vision for this observatory was involved in what is considered the first "Trial of The Century” in a case where he shot his wife. His defense was, let us say, “unique."

Besides the observatory, there are a couple of cool hikes that we enjoy taking and a tree named after one of the Beatles (how the original tree died was quite coincidental). Next time you’re in the area, stop by the Griffith Observatory and “Scope it out.”

Here's a link to the stars.

There’s the best reason to like the new system so far...a photo of the Maitaicorgis!

Everytime I go to LA, I say I’ll go to Griffith Observatory, and the. I don’t get around to it. Thanks for the TR!

Gotta start taking those hikes near the observatory to get the corgis...and us...back in shape.
