Can't help with the resort Kam, sorry. Haven't stayed there but from what I hear it's "OK", ie, not creme de la creme, nor the pits.
One thing. It is St Pete Beach, not St. Pete's Beach. Sounds petty, I know, but that common mispronunciation is like fingernails on a blackboard to residents.

Hmmm, maybe that's a clue how poor a place the Sandpiper Resort is. Does St. Petersburg Beach translate to St. Pete Beach or St. Pete's Beach? Maybe someone at the resort detected the brochure error but they didn't have the money to fix it? Some of this is "tongue in cheek" humor, but it really IS St. Pete Beach - and I think I really would avoid Sandpiper!

There was a big controversy a couple years ago when the "powers that be" decided to officially change the city name from St. Petersburg Beach to St. Pete Beach. Over lots of dissension, they shortened the name, requiring new everything, from letterhead to police car logos etc. Guess they had nothing better to do!
