St.Pete eats?
Hi,
I will be arriving in St.Pete on Saturday July 2nd. I have been to Crabby Bills and Shells for seafood. Can anyone recommend and other seafood places to have great fish? Not too expensive though!!! Also I checked with the Condo personell today and they told me Red Tide is almost non existant there....Anyone know this to be fact??? |
You can check out the Hurricane Restaurant out on Pass-a-Grille Beach (just south of SPB past the Don Cesar). Great seafood restaurant with rooftop bar overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
What beach/condo are you staying at? I'm not sure about the red tide being almost non-existent, haven't been ON the beach since RT has showed up, though my daughter was out there over the weekend (at someone's house which is on a canal off the intercoastal), she didn't see any dead fish there, but she sure smelled them. Hopefully this will end real soon. If you do have a problem with dead fish on the beach while here, head over to Ft. DeSoto Park, which has not had a problem with it, not to mention it is one of the best beaches in the area! I would definitely go there on a weekday though, it will be packed the entire holiday weekend! If you do go there, head out very, very early ... Linda in St. Pete |
We ate at Leverock's in St. Pete Beach when we were down there in April and had a good meal. Had a good lunch at Sea Critter's Cafe in Pass-a-Grille as well. Didnt make it to the Hurricane as we didnt have much time there, but have heard good things about it.
We also had a good meal at a Japanese Steakhouse in the Dolphin Village Shopping Plaza. I can't think of it's name off the top of my head...maybe Justmom knows it? |
There are still dead fish on the beaches from St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira and Redington Beaches left over from Red Tide. So you still have the smell of dead fish.
Seafood Restaurants: Guppy's, The Lobster Pot are on the Beach (Redington and Indian Rocks. The Hurricane is good on St. Pete Beach. There is Bone Fish Grill off the Beach on 4th Street in St. Petersburg. The Courtney Campbell Causeway has The Castaways (beautiful water view and good food) and also Laundry's, another beautiful water view and good seafood. Treausre Island has the KingFish and John's Pass has several places to get good seafood. Hope the rain clears up by the time you get here, it is rain every day, thunder/lightening. Have a good trip! |
