St. Paddy, not St. Patty

Enough said.

29FEB Mar 16th, 2014 07:14 AM

A timely reminder.

Tabernash2 Mar 16th, 2014 08:16 AM

What about St Pat's Day? No one says St Pad's Day!

nytraveler Mar 16th, 2014 08:55 AM

One of my colleagues is Irish and although he calls himself Patrick his name is actually spelled Padraig. Which is why it is St Paddy's.

Tabernash2 Mar 16th, 2014 09:02 AM

Well, if we want to be literally correct, it should be St Padraig's Day.

garyt22 Mar 16th, 2014 09:32 AM

nobody cares... they're too drunk...

IMDonehere Mar 16th, 2014 09:45 AM

A timely reminder from 13 years ago?

29FEB Mar 16th, 2014 09:51 AM

Yes.

garyt22 Mar 16th, 2014 09:59 AM

they've been drunk for 13 years...

IMDonehere Mar 16th, 2014 10:30 AM

I am not going to answer 29Feb until 2027.

hetismij2 Mar 16th, 2014 10:59 AM

He's only Padraig in modern Irish. Patrick comes from Latin.
He was probably Welsh, and certainly not Irish.

Tabernash2 Mar 16th, 2014 11:05 AM

Let's just settle on Patrick, then. I always thought Padraig was a weird name.

I'm about 100% Irish, so have the final say. Haha

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!,
