Tour The Arch and Museum at the base of the Arch. If you like Italian food, spend some time on The Hill. It's a wonderful Italian neighborhood with lots of great food. We enjoyed Grant's Farm where you take a free tram to see all the animals and then stop for a couple of free beers.
St Charles is a lovely little town on the river where Louis and Clark began their adventures and a great place to spend an afternoon. And if you have an extra day, drive an hour or so to the German settlement of Hermann. Lots of vineyards and wineries. Have fun! |
thank you! Im sure we will have plenty of time...we will definately check out Hermann, I am first generation American, parents born in Germany, and I have yet to get there! I love anything Bavarian/German/Austrian~many thanks!!!

You're very welcome. We stopped at the tourist information center in downtown Hermann and they were very helpful. Gave us maps of how to get to the differant wineries and filled us with lots of info. |
Head over to Ted Drewes for frozen custard. Yum!
Check out Forest Park which contains museums, the zoo and a giant ferris wheel. Parking is free anywhere in the park except the lot next to the zoo. Head to the Arch. See the movie about how the arch was made and then take a trip in up into the arch. |
What are your interests? Museums? if so the Art Museum often has wonderful exhibits and the City Museum is a quirky fun place to spend a couple of hours. The Arch...Riverboat casinos, Cahokia Indian mounds for a look at a fascinating prehistoric Indian civilization... Tour the Annheuseur Busch (sp?) museum/factory and get free tastings, Got to the farmer's market...I'll think of more

You do not mention lodging.
Have you considered Westin Cuples Station? It is adjacent to the park and you can get a view that you will never forget. Especially as a Cardinals fan and for the last year of the old stadium. The rooms have 15 foot windows and bathrooms are marble with a window into the bedroom/elegant. We could look right down into the side of the park. You Cardinals fans pile in early, hours ahead of time and in a sea of red. I wish they played the W. Sox every year, because I loved the fans and the surroundings there. Enjoy your stay! We did, immensely. Did well on the riverboat as well. |
