Put the St. Louis Zoo at the top of your list. It's one of our nation's finest. And, admission is free, though there is a charge for parking.

we will be there in mid august .
we are taking the delta queen from MSP to St Louis |
Melissa,
Mid-August will be hot, humid, and sticky! As I look through the board today, you also seem to be going to the Smokeys, both on the NC and TN sides, and to Louisville. And now you say you will be in MSP. Are you doing this all in one trip? If so, you may get overloaded on tourist type stuff. I would suggest getting tickets to a Cardinals game. Try a night game, it's not as hot. Howard is right about the zoo. They are usually open late one night/week in the summer. There should be a link for the zoo on the forest park website I gave you. Also, the City Museum is a good, inside (AC) activity. The MUNY may be over by your trip, or doing their last production. It's the largest outdoor musical theater venue in the country. Also in Forest Park. Grants Farm would be fun for kids, also AB Brewery tour. I know they're not old enough to drink, but kids tend to like these kind of tours. The Missouri Botanical Garden may also be a shady place to visit. |
I forgot...at that time of the year, go to the arch as early as you can. It gets VERY warm in there.

our plan is to fly to MSP and spend a day or so at the Mall of America. Then we will be going down the Mississippi on the Delta Queen. We then plan to drive home to NJ .It is the 5 of us- 3 adults and a 11 and 14 year old.
My husband and I were in Gaitlinburg 20 years ago and we throught it was very touristy then. So I am sure that it has not changed. |
