St Louis Hotel?

I am looking at these 3 hotels relatively at the same price for the location close to Busch Stadium in May. Can you give me your preferences. The Millennium Hotel, Radison Downtown and the Mayfair-Wyndham.
Thanks!

Don't know the Millennium or the Radisson but I have stayed at the Mayfair and liked it! Very small and elegant. Good service, too, and the price was right.

Grew up in St. Louis and worked downtown for years. The Radison downtown is a dive. Not very safe. The Millennium is okay and so is the Wyndham Mayfair.

There are two new Renaissance Hotels on Washington Avenue that are nice and close to the Metrolink (local subway that will take you right to the stadium). You can also stay outside of downtown and catch the subway into downtown. good luck.

I grew up in St. Louis as well and spent a fair amount of time working with the hotels you listed, wandering around back of house.

I'd fall right in line with MsWitty. No on the Radisson. Mayfair is nice and has atmosphere. Millennium is ok, it's went through a few owners over the years, but it's not that convenient to transport. The metrolink is a single line and it swerves away from the area of 4th Street where the Millennium is, so you'd do as well walking to Busch Stadium as you would to a metrolink stop.

My current favorite in the same general price range is the Sheraton on 14th. Clean, roomy, very convenient to the Metrolink (stop is right across the street from the lobby entrance) and it has a private parking garage. The walk back from Busch is reasonable in case the train is too full after the game.

The Westin at Cupples Station is great as well, and right on top of a station, plus almost adjacent to Busch, but it's definitely in a higher price range.

We are going to St. Louis in July. Considering staying at the Hampton Inn downtown near the Arch. Would that be a good choice? We are flying in and will have a rental car. We want to visit the downtown attractions, Anheuser Busch, the zoo, and possibly St. Charles if the Lewis and Clark exhibits are still there. Will we be able to visit these places (except St. Charles) by using public transportation?

docpsb: The Millenium is the best on that list. It's only one block and is pretty nice. The Mayfair is good but it's been a while since I've stayed there. Stay away from the Radison.

The new Renaissance is very nice and should be a good price since they've had difficulty filling its 1000+ rooms.

mlm: You will have to use car for most of those places. The Hampton Inn should be nice, it opened just a few months ago.
