ST. LOUIS

Will be going to St. Louis for a long weekend, was wondering anyone know what we should see. Will be there from Dec.13 thru 16th.

If you have kids (any age) be sure to go to the city musuem (downtown area). I'm in my 40's and had a blast.

Here are a couple of websites you can look at

You might want to stop by the library to see if there is a St. Louis guidebook there if you don’t want to buy one. I get the impression from your past posts that you think this is a free travel agency. You don’t do much research of your own.

I do look into the area I'm going and I do have the explore St Louis I was hoping someone would know something different to do, as the explore st. louis didn't have anything in it for the month of Dec.

I don't have any children coming with us

One must do...Go to the ARCH!

When I was there last Feb. here are a couple things we did:
- FREE ZOO (amazed by this-coming from SO CAL where nothing is free)
- The Hill- Italian area that has many wonderful restaurants and deli's
- Steak and Shake- great fast burgers
- Imo's Pizza http://www.imospizza.com/- must try the toasted ravioli, yum!
- We did Mardi Gras in Soulard but that was in Feb!

Also that link above is pretty good, I would check it out!

When you go to the arch, even if you don't want to go up, there is a museum on the floor level (I think it's free) and a large gift shop. Also don't miss the movie, they show not only about St Louis, we went to a movie about Alaska, it was great.

Depends on what you like. Options would include:

-Gateway Arch (but note that lines can be long to go up it, and the tiny elevators are not for the claustrophobic); the view is spectacular. FarinaAgain's suggestion of the museum at the foot of the Arch is a good one -- it's actually a good historic museum.

-Cathedral of St. Louis. Stunning mosaics inside.

-Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour.

-Old Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, and Old Courthouse. Both are close by the Arch.

-St. Louis Art Museum.

The Missouri Botanical Garden would have also been recommended, but this likely isn't the time of year for it. And agree with SiteC_er that the City Museum is a must if you've got kids.
