St. Charles Streetcar Update
 

It won't be long now.

RTA has posted an advisory that the electrical lines are live from Lee Circle to Upperline which is several blocks past Napoleon Ave.

Testing will be this week.

St Charles MO, next to St Louis?

I believe she's referring to the St. Charles streetcar in New Orleans...

Good to hear - I love those streetcars and the ride through the Garden District and up to Riverbend is really neat.

(I knew you were talking about New Orleans, but then New Orleans is never far from my thoughts ;) )

There is a mixture of excitement to see them again and worry about not remembering to look for them before crossing the Avenue.

That is great news. Is Camille's Grill still open/reopened?
I always rode the street car on my trips to N.O.

If you mean the Camellia Grill, I believe it re-opened a few months ago.

We just booked a spur of the moment trip, departing Portland, OR on Oct. 11th so I hope it is up and running when we arrive!

The streetcar won't be running by October 11, except to Lee Circle. The Canal-Napoleon phase will open in November and the rest of the line in 2008.
