St Augustine restaurant?
I'm hoping knowledgeable folks will give me good in-put. I'd thought to try Casa Monica's restaurant, but it gets some very convincing negative reviews on Trip Advisor. I wonder if there are any quite good restaurants that are an easy stroll from that hotel. Thank you.

A few years ago, I reluctantly ate at a Greek Restauraunt in that vicinity.
I was not familiar with Greek food, and was very hesitant to try. It turns out it was a wonderful place with fantastic food. Give it a try if they're still around. |
I loved the A1A Ale House (I think it has someone's name in front of A1A). It is at the foot of the bridge to Anastasia. I can't recall exactly where the casa monica is but you can take a cab.

Here is a great suggestion and a very easy stroll from the Casa Monica. It is the Old City House <http://www.oldcityhouse.com>.
While the Old City House is perhaps better known as a B&B, they have a superb restaurant that serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in a small, intimate setting. Check out their menus on the web site and see what I mean. If I were a restaurant critic, I would give them an A-. |
Thanks for the recs.
We love Greek food, but have it a lot. We've eaten at A1A-- liked the view and thought the food was ok-- but just ok, not great. Main thing is-- dh doesn't like to go to restaurants that don't take reservations. I liked the look of Old City House menu and the dining room. I wonder why it's listed so very far down in Trip Advisor. |
I don't know why they don't get better ratings from Trip Advisor, but I can say that I have eaten there several times and the food is very good. I really don't think you'll be disappointed.
