I have been looking at this house for a girl's getaway before a wedding.

https://www.vrbo.com/926708 This has three bedrooms and is still downtown historical. There are bridge side ones that you might like better. We usually like staying historical side because of eating out and entertainment.

I meant beachside, I had my brain on the bridge. https://www.vrbo.com/7025829ha

Thanks so much. Is there a beach in the historical district ?

Macross Jul 8th, 2017 04:41 PM

The historical area where the fort is on the inlet. It is called the river but is an inlet. There is a nice cruise you can take.

I would check VRBO for a rental on St. Augustine Beach. We have stayed on the beach lots of times and depending on your rental it will probably only be an 10 minute drive into historic St. Augustine. VRBO has maps showing the exact location of rentals. With a group including children, I think you would be better on the beach and visiting St. Augustine rather than the other way around.

Try the Sand Dollar condos on Crescent Beach. They are 3BR, 2BA and direct oceanfront. http://tinyurl.com/y9mmnf7t

Crescent Beach is a little far away from St Augustine. Marineland is doing some great research now that your kids might like. You can zip line over the gators at St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park. :) The lighthouse is great to climb and make sure you at least walk into Flagler College's main building. Amazing building.

Gators ? No, no, no ! For us they are the most unattractive thing about Florida. We are going to St. Augustine for a family reunion. We are coming from Reno and my husband's daughter and family from Jacksonville. Gators are not a part of the family and won't be included !!

Bedar,
Don't say that if going to Gainesville.

We stayed here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7412 Shrimper's Beach house. St Augustine Beach. Dated but spacious. 2 houses down from the beach and you can see the see from sea from the deck. There in a really nice spacious enclosed deck on the 2nd floor, great for family/friends hangout and dinning area.
