St. Augustine Itinerarly Opinions
 

We are taking a long weekend to St. Augustine at the end of the month. We've been before so did the "must-sees" back then. I've found a few fun things in my research and want to know if anyone has done them and what their experience is.

We arrive on Saturday, probably around lunch, and have on the schedule to eat at Cafe Alcazar, Tour the San Sebastian Winery, poke around the shops on the main street (can't remember the name at the moment) and do a sunset kayak tour with dinner either before or after depending on the time of the kayak thing.

On Sunday we want to have a brunch somewhere (recommendations? we like buffets), take the Segway EcoTour, lunch somewhere (recommendations?), do more shopping maybe, have dinner at Raintree and then take a Ghost tour (recommendations for one?)

On Monday we'll probably leave around lunch so we need a recommendation for a yummy breakfast. We may do one more thing before we leave or just head back after breakfast.

Any opinions and recommendations are welcome!!

I forgot to mention that we aren't seafood eaters so strictly seafodd type restaurants are lost on us.

I think your plan looks pretty sound. One thing you might want to consider after lunch at Cafe Alcazar is to walk across Cordova Street and visit Old St. Augustine Village <http://www.old-staug-village.com/>.

On Sunday, consider having brunch at Old City House <http://www.oldcityhouse.com>, just a few steps from Old St. Augustine Village and the Lightner Museum. Another good choice for brunch would be the Reef <http://www.thereefstaugustine.com/index.html>. They have a georgeous ocean view and you can check out their menu online.

Dinner at the Raintree on Sunday sounds good. I just ate there last Saturday and it was as good as ever.

In 2007 we visited St. Augustine and although we did not go on a "true" ghost tour we highly recommend the following:
St. Augustine's Pirate walking tour. The guide was named "Captain Dion." Not scary but extremely entertaining and an absolutely fun evening. There were younger members of our tour and they really seemed to enjoy it. They do have a website: www.staugustineghostandpiratetours.com

What about the Tasting Room? I had it written down on a piece of paper when I was researching places to go and eat. Is it good?

I've never been to the Tasting Room. Why don't you try it and give us a report?
