St. Augustine, FL Review

When planning my trip I got very few responses, most people said to read old reviews, I did and that was why I was asking questions! I thought you'd like to hear about some of the great places we found (we only like casual dining so that is what these places are): Dinner at A1A Alehouse downtown, sit on 2nd floor balancy outside overlooking water. Lunch at Tavern on the Bay downtown, overlooking water, have to sit outside. Dinner one night at South Beach Grille at Crescent Beach. It's right on the beach. We toured World Golf Hall of Fame, I was disappointed there were not more exhibits, but my husband loved it. Lunch at Murray's Restaurant offerred huge portions and tasty food. The St. Augustine Lighthouse was worth the $ and climb, the views tremendous. The Ghost Tour was great fun, lots of good tales and not cheesy as I was expecting. One day we just walked around downtown, you can walk all around it's not too too far, as some of the tour operators want you to believe. It's a great town. We can't wait to go back and take a boat ride and relax on the water!

This is the ghost tour we took http://www.ghosttoursofstaugustine.com/ There are several companies that do them. Have a great time in Oct!

Thank you for the information, martkus.
My friend and I are planning to visit St Augustine in October.

Where did you stay and would you recommend it? We are booked at the Ramada Inn on San Marco for 2 nights and the Monterey Inn on the bay for 2 nights. Do you know anything about either of these motels? Thanks again for the info!

Sorry Laurie, don't know much about the hotels, maybe another reader can help?

We just stayed at the Sleep Inn to cut down costs, but there were tons of cute places downtown and on the water!
