Ssratoga springs- Relocation

My husband and I are seriously considering a move to Saratoga Springs, NY- We currently live in long Island, NY- Visited the area numerous times and really like it- any advice- pros or cons- We are considering a develiopment in Wilton- Are the winters reaaly that long?

Yes.

Saratoga Springs is fabulous, good restaurants, bars, architecture, character...It's becoming very built up, new development everywhere. Wilton is complete suburbia and more affordable while lacking in charm. New development all over Wilton as well. Prices for both places have been steadily increasing, even with bad news in the housing market. I used to live in Westchester and would never go back there. Never.

Saratoga Springs is a great place! Lots to see and do. The location is perfect. You will be near Lake George and Albany ( which has a great little airport ). The only con I can think of is summer traffic which can be brutal at times. However, there are a few ways around the traffic. Good Luck!!

Thanks for positive feedback- Besides Wilton any other suggestions as far as a neighboring town to consider- We really don't want to be further than 10-15 min. from downtown Saratoga Springs-

I personally like Wilton, but be prepared for the traffic. Coming from LI, I can't imagine it will be worse than there, but there are a few bottlenecks currently due to all the new development.

Winters? Well- it snowed today.
