Spring Skiing in Colorado with Teens

We have been unable to "match" our 1st choice for a timeshare trade in Steamboat Springs for March 2001 skiing with our 4 children who will be ages 17, 15, 13, and 12 next spring vacation. What would be another "family oriented" area to get lots of good skiing in with possibly other sights? We are not black diamond expert skiers, so we are looking for areas with more blue and green runs...thanks in advance.

Maria

Try Snowmass near Aspen. Very family oriented with many green and blue runs.

May I also suggest Keystone/Breckenridge. These are family oriented ski areas with a variety of beginner/intermediate terrain and both have large lift capacities. Essential for children.

Both of these places are about 1.5 hours from Denver International Airport.

Snow might be iffy for all Colorado mountains in March. It could hit one mountain range like Copper and not Breckenridge.....

Just a comment from a Colorado Front Range resident.

Maria:

I overwhelmingly endorse Snowmass!!! It's an awesome mountain for everyone. The second biggest in the US, I think! Very family oriented, with lot's accessible via the Snowmass Shuttle (free) and, Aspen is a short shuttle excursion away. Moreover, it's not snooty like Aspen. We stayed at the Crestwood, which was great, although it didnt have a dining table. The two condos just across the way Chamoix and (?) looked lovely, too. And, we were a 500 yard walk to the slopes.

Winter Park is a wonderful mountain with a wholesome family feel. Tremendous snow, too! I hear that Telluride is awesome as well.
