Spokane to Glacier National Park

I will be taking the trip the middle of July 2020. Flying into Spokane and renting a car and driving to GNP. Will take I-90 and would like to start my trip in West Glacier and travel down the Road to the Sun first. Maybe 5-6 days total in GNP. What are a couple of other scenic roads I should travel? Like photography and short hikes. Is West Glacier a good place to start? (flying in/out of Spokane because of free miles with Southwest.)

Unless you want to spend some time around Coeur d'Alene Idaho, try the Amtrak Empire Builder train overnight from Spokane to Whitefish MT. The train leaves Spokane a little after midnight every night and is in Whitefish in the early morning Mountain Time. You can rent a car in Whitefish or from the Kalispell airport.
Check the NPS website for Glacier for "plan your visit".
I have made this trip several times each way riding in coach seats. Sleeping in a coach seat is not as comfortable as in a Roomete but it is quite possible.

Definitely also go to Many Glacier and maybe Two Medicine. Nice short hikes are Avalanche Lake, Hidden Lake, Virginia Falls, Redrock Falls.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to buy walking sticks (first time) and Trailbuddy is my choice.
